top 5 activities to do this weekend with kids

As the weather gets colder it can be trickier to find ways to entertain your kids outside of the house. Here are our top five Toronto activities to do this weekend with kids.

  1. Visit a fire station: Are your kids obsessed with fire trucks? (If you have children, I’ll assume the answer is yes). Anyone can visit a fire station and get a tour. If you are a group of six or more you need to call ahead. If your group is fewer than six people, you can just drop in. Here’s the info.

  2. The movies: Every Saturday morning at 11:00 am Cineplex theaters are screening family favourite movies for $2.99. This week’s movie is Air Bud: Golden Retriever. Get more info here.

  3. Get Outdoors: Billed as the most scenic rink in the city, The Natrel Rink at the Harbourfront Centre is set to open in November but no firm date yet. This is the only time we hope it gets colder, because colder means more beautiful, free skating. Check their website for up to date information.

  4. Day of The Dead: This one is for the slightly older children. Head down to the harbourfront centre again for this two-day Mexican celebration of life and legacy. Head to the Harbourfront website for more information.

  5. Play!: The GTA’s newest indoor playground, Playcious, has just opened Vaughn and it is a massive addition to the already-impressive list of indoor playgrounds that Toronto families have to choose from. The 18,000 square foot play centre includes a five-storey soft play area with 30 different activities, a trampoline park and a kids gymnasium. Get tickets and view more info here.

Let us know if you do any of these activities! Better yet, send us a photo. Have a great weekend, everyone.
